These pieces begin like DNA in cellular mitosis, the start in a different form sometimes emerging over decades. I suspect that each piece will continuously evolve, at least while I am alive. I begin with a drawing or photograph; sometimes it is a white canvas. My original article becomes a college board. Sometimes I do a gesso transfer onto the canvas. I hot glue and make gesso transfers of various images, and I paint. I like to use gouache because it is vibrant. Random, and purposeful things are placed on the canvas. Sometimes I glue items to the canvas like shells, even toys, sequins, and feathers. The art itself starts to sparkle. I aim for a visual representation of Holi. No Glitter or hot glue should be leftover; I use loads of it. I bedazzle the piece; it takes years to finish one of these relief sculptures. I apply several layers; there are infinite combinations all layered according to mood. Finally, I have an ipencil, and this is a magick tool. The media is digital photography and amalgams of gesso, hot glue, earth things, glitter, and paint collages. Glitter is crucial because it photographs differently according to the light. Glitter and gouache are vital elements, as well as Prisma colour, and HB Pencils. They are all unfinished work.
